Hear What the Experts Have to Say...

Dr. Christopher D. Williams, author of The Fastest Way to Get Pregnant Naturally: “Remain on your back after intercourse and have your partner place a pillow under your hips. This increases the downward angle of the vagina so the semen pools up against your cervix. Stay in this position for at least fifteen to thirty minutes.”

Dr. Williams plans to mention Conception Curve Positioning Pillow in the second edition of his book. Please visit his site at www.pregnancysuccess.com

Dr. Ruth’s Pregnancy Guide for Couples: "after ejaculation the woman should continue to lie on her back with her pelvis slightly tilted upward for some time, maybe twenty to thirty minutes.”

The classic bestseller Getting Pregnant What You Need to Know Right Now: “By remaining in bed for twenty to thirty minutes after intercourse, preferably on your back with a pillow under your pelvis, you can help encourage sperm to remain in your body and flow upward toward the fallopian tube. This, in turn, may facilitate a faster conception.”   Additionally: "In much the same way that lying still after sex can help keep sperm inside you, so too does minimizing movement after insemination.  Although some doctors disagree, I believe that remaining on the examining table with your buttocks raised slightly upward for about twenty minutes following your procedure will help encourage conception."

- Niels H. Lauersen, M.D., Ph.D., and Colette Bouchez

Babycenter.com: “a woman can further increase the likelihood of conception by remaining in bed for up to half an hour following intercourse, preferably on her back with a pillow under her pelvic region.”

Fertilinet.com: “After intercourse, try putting a pillow under your bottom, elevating your hips allowing for more sperm contact. Stay there for at least thirty minutes. Why make the sperm fight gravity on top of all the other obstacles it has to get through to get to where it needs to go.”

Division of Reproductive  Endocrinology and Infertility, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. McGill  University,Quebec, Canada:  A study conducted shows that the position of a patient after intrauterine insemination can have a significant effect on pregnancy rates. In the study, 116 couples with unexplained infertility were studied. Those maintaining a supine position after insemination  had a much higher  pregnancy rate and a higher pregnancy rate per cycle than the patients mobilized immediately after IUI.
